Job Description
Explore with us! Do you know buildings? Join our team of Facility Condition Assessors and work on a variety of building types and locations utilizing data collection and reporting tools for efficiency and client delivery. This includes assessment of all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects may include detailed evaluations of interiors, structural systems, building enclosures, MEP systems, pavement and landscaping, industrial infrastructure, and both modern and arcane construction materials. Assessment method will be primarily visual examinations but may include non-destructive testing and investigations. Projects may be capital planning focused or property transactional in nature. Client deliverables will range from reports of findings and recommendations to working with an AE team to develop restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.

Opportunities to lead and manage service delivery along with technical analysis of assessment findings are abundant including CAPEX estimating and forecasting, supporting client strategic planning initiatives.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Senior level facilities professional who acts as a resource and specialist and has direct client responsibility from initial contact to project close out.
  • Manages, leads or consults on large, complex or unique projects, providing coordination and oversight of multiple team members.
  • Capable of analyzing all technical aspects of subject area, defining scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending solutions.
  • Provides leadership, technical direction/expertise, and training to all staff under direction.
  • Follow Terracon’s IIF safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, architecture, building science or related building field and 10+ years’ experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience.
  • Specialization in MEP/HVAC systems a plus
  • Demonstrated history of assessment expertise in at least one area of construction, building type, or technology, ie: roof systems. Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Regional Travel
Preferred Certification:
  • Professional registrations or certifications are a plus.
